Champagne Bottle:

Begin with the E hook and Teal yarn. The bottle will be worked in joined rounds, the CH 1 after the join in each round will not count in the stitch count.

Round 1: 6 SC in MR. Join with SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (6 SC made)

Round 2: (1 INC in each SC around). Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (12 SC made)

Round 3: (1 SC in next 3 STS, 1 INC next ST) Repeat around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (15 SC made)

Round 4: 1 BLO SC in each ST around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (15 BLO SC made)

Round 5: 1 SC in each ST around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (15 SC made) Change yarn color to light blue to begin Round 6.

Rounds 6-7: 1 SC in each ST around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (15 SC made, each round) After completing Round 7, change yarn color back to teal to begin Round 8.

Round 8: 1 SC in each ST around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (15 SC made)

Round 9: (1 SC in next 3 STS, 1 DEC next ST) Repeat around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (12 SC made)

Round 10: (1 SC in next ST, 1 DEC next ST) Repeat around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (8 SC made) Change yarn color to light blue to begin Round 11.

Face (optional):

Place 6mm safety eyes approximately 2 stitches apart between Rounds 6 & 7 of the bottle. Using a yarn needle or an embroidery needle and the black embroidery thread, add eyelashes to the corner of each eye and/or eyebrows above the eye. I recommend waiting to attach the washers to the backs of the safety eyes until all details of the face are completed. Next, sew a mouth in the shape of a “V”, evenly spaced between the eyes. Secure thread ends inside of the bottle (I simply tie the ends together loosely) and trim away excess. Add make-up blush just under each eye for a pink “cheek”. If you have not already done so, secure the washers to the backs of the safety eyes now.

Stuff:

Stuff the bottle with fiber fill stuffing now. You will not need to stuff the bottle after Round 10.

Round 11: (1 SC in next 2 STS, 1 DEC next ST) Repeat around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (6 SC made)

Rounds 12-14: 1 SC in each ST around. Join with a SL ST to the first SC of the round, CH 1. (6 SC made, each round)

Round 15: (1 SC in next 2 STS, 1 INC next ST) Repeat around. SL ST to the 1st SC of the round, fasten off. Leave a tail of yarn to weave the top of the bottle closed. (8 SC made)

Finishing:

**If you would like the bottle to appear as if it is spraying Champagne out of the top (see photo below), place a small amount of stuffing at the very tip of the bottle before weaving closed. You will simply pull the round closed (as instructed in step 1 below) around the fiberfill to hold in place. Shape the stuffing as desired by trimming with scissors.

  1. To begin, thread the yarn needle with the tail of yarn left for sewing from Round 15. Pass the needle back and forth through the front loops of Round 15, all the way around. Gently pull the tail of yarn to close the top of the bottle. Pass the needle through the bottle to secure the yarn tail in place and trim away the excess yarn.
  2. If you would like, you can place a small amount of aluminum foil and a twist tie around the top of the bottle for decoration (this is optional). Finished!

Thanks for stitching along with me. I hope you enjoyed making the mini Champagne Bottle with me!
