The holiday season is the perfect time to cozy up with a quick handmade project, and these Gingerbread Cookie Coasters might be one of my favorite festive makes yet. Whether you’re decorating your own home, putting together a cute hostess gift, or prepping for a holiday market, this easy crochet pattern works up fast and brings instant Christmas charm to any space.
Inspired by classic iced gingerbread cookies, these coasters add the cutest warm-and-whimsy touch to your coffee table — and they’re completely customizable in any color combination you love.
In this post, I’ll walk you through the details of the pattern, share helpful tips, and show you how to make your very own set.
Why You’ll Love This Pattern
There are plenty of reasons makers have been loving this project:
- Beginner-friendly: Uses simple stitches, including a step-by-step explanation of the bean stitch.
- Quick to finish: Perfect for last-minute gifts or batching for markets.
- Festive & fun: Looks adorable in gingerbread tones, holiday reds and greens, or even pastels for a sweet candy look.
- Two size options: Standard coaster size + a larger mug coaster for oversized holiday mugs.
- Video tutorial included: Great if you’re a visual learner or new to the stitch technique.

Perfect For Holiday Gifting!
These little coasters make adorable gifts on their own, but here are a few cute pairing ideas:

- Package with homemade treats or neighbor gifts
- Use as stocking stuffers
- Make sets for craft fairs or Christmas markets
They also look beautiful styled on your coffee bar, cocoa station, or holiday dining table.
Color Ideas!
In the pattern, I provide several color-change suggestions, including:
- Traditional gingerbread cookie (taupe + brown + white icing)
- Red peppermint style
- Pink or green pastel “frosted cookie”
- Santa and Elf themed coasters
- Oversized mug rug version with layered icing rounds
Mix and match to create your own set!
